How this is calculated
The calculator searches the same elongation model as the next-full-moon tool for the next 0° crossing (new) and the next 180° crossing (full). It does not add a fixed 29.53 days to one seed date. The mean synodic month used in the age figures is 29.530588853 days.
Questions
Is a new moon the same as a solar eclipse?
No. A new moon is an alignment in longitude. An eclipse also needs the Moon near a node. This page does not compute eclipses.
Which time zone is printed?
The first clock uses the time zone you pick from the list. The second is UTC. The page does not detect a city from your IP.
